A graduate of the University of Auckland, Bharat Parshotam has been practising law since 1985. He commenced his career at Fortune Manning, an established law firm in the city, becoming a partner in 1991.

In 1996, he joined BC Patel in partnership, practicing from the current premises at Mt Roskill. Upon Mr Patel’s retirement at the end of 1999, the firm changed its name to Parshotam & Co, and it is now known as Parshotam Lawyers.

The law runs in Bharat’s family. The firm ‘Parshotam & Co’ in Suva, Fiji, was founded in 1955 by Bharat’s uncle, Kantilal Parshotam, who was later joined in partnership by Bharat’s brother Subhas and his cousin Satish.

Parshotam & Co in Fiji remains one of the largest and most reputable law firms in the country.

Bianca Parshotam

LLB, BA, MIRAD, ATCL

Barrister and Solicitor

Bianca graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2021 with a double degree in Law and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Media and Communications.

She was admitted to the bar in 2022 at the Christchurch High Court, whilst also finishing her Master of International Relations and Diplomacy. She works in a range of areas and most commonly deals with wills and estate administration, relationship property matters, sale and purchase of businesses, and litigation. In her spare time, Bianca enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her dog Romeo.

Uma Prakash

Uma Prakash joined Parshotam Lawyers in August 2023 and qualified as  a legal executive in 2022. She is also an affiliate member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives.

Uma has 12 years of property conveyancing experience and specialises in residential and commercial purchase, sale, refinance and transfer of property to trusts. Outside of work, she loves to take a walk along the beach near her home, reading and watching movies.
